15-Year-Old Adivasi Muslim Boy Lynched in Bihar’s Katihar After Minor Bike Dispute

A case of mob lynching has emerged from the Hapla area of Katihar district in Bihar, where a 15-year-old Adivasi Muslim boy, Mohammad Manzar Rai, was allegedly beaten to death after a minor argument over a bike collision. The incident took place on Monday and has caused shock and tension in the locality.

According to reports, the dispute began after a minor bike accident. During the argument, a group of people allegedly assaulted the teenager, leaving him critically injured. He later died during treatment. Several individuals have been named in the case, including Nitish Kumar, Patil Kumar Yadav, Sujit Kumar Yadav, Vicky Kumar Yadav, Munna Kumar Yadav, and Raju Kumar Yadav.

Confirming the incident, Sub Inspector Tabrez Alam of Chitabari police station said an FIR has been registered. “Two accused have been arrested so far, and police teams are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused,” he said.

Leaders of the Social Democratic Party of India visited the victim’s family after the incident. SDPI state general secretary Rizwan Mazhari, Katihar district in charge Qamar Danish, and Mohammad Ashraf met the family and offered condolences. They assured the family of legal, social, and humanitarian support.

Strongly condemning the killing, SDPI demanded the immediate arrest of all named accused and called for the case to be tried in a fast-track court. Party leaders said, “Mob lynching is a serious threat to the Constitution, law and order, and social harmony. Strict and swift action is necessary to ensure justice and to prevent such crimes in the future.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing and security has been tightened in the area to maintain peace and prevent further unrest.
