On October, 20, the Muzaffarnagar Police filed an FIR against 700 Muslims who were protesting on the streets against an Islamophobic comment of a Hindutva hate-monger, Akhil Tyagi.

According to Millat Times, after a derogatory and highly offensive remark of Akhil Tyagi that insulted Almighty Allah and Islam went viral online, the believers were extremely distressed. Consequently, they amassed and marched in Budhana town of Muzaffarnagar to request the police department for an adequate strict action.

Hundreds of local Muslims raised their voices and solgans to demand arrest of Amit Tyagi, who posted an insulting comment to demean the glory of Almighty Allah and “intentionally offend” Indian Muslims. Amid tensed situations the police arrested him on Saturday in response to a complaint registered by Jamiat-E-Ulma-Hind’s Maulana Aas Mohammed.

In between some locals were informed that Amit has been granted bail by the police administration minutes after the arrest. Following this, around 11 ‘O’ clock in night local Muslims again headed towards the Police station.

They amassed, asking for strict action, imprisonment and serious steps to stop the hate-offender from committing such crimes in future. In order to describe the rumour, they were shown photographs of the culprit and were connected to Jamiat-E-Ulma Hind leaders to convey the information and related confirmation about Amit Tyagi’s imprisonment. After this the situation calmed down and things became normal.

However, these Muslim campaigners were only demanding a just response against the attack on their religious freedom and dignity and were seeking the assurance of adequate punishment against Hindutva goon but police filed FIR against around 700 Muslims protestors.

Just for protesting to protect their religious rights, 700 Muslims protestors were charged under serious allegations.
