Second US Flight Carrying Deportees Expected to Land in Amritsar on Saturday, 67 Punjabis Among 119 Indians

A special flight carrying 119 Indian nationals deported from the United States is set to arrive at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar on Saturday, police officials confirmed, according to a report in the Indian Express.

This marks the second such deportation flight amid an ongoing US crackdown on illegal immigrants. According to media sources, 67 of the returnees are from Punjab, followed by 33 from Haryana.

The remaining deportees include eight from Gujarat, three from Uttar Pradesh, and two each from Goa, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir have one deportee each on the flight.

Authorities have put security and procedural measures in place at the airport, with immigration officials, police personnel, and representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs overseeing the arrival.

A senior police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that another flight carrying more deported Indian nationals is expected to land in Amritsar on Sunday.
