The spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, on Thursday, reinstated India’s stance on Pakistan, denying any chances for bilateral discussions. He was reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, “Talks and Terror Don’t go together.

Jaiswal also said that India will not engage in any dialogue with Pakistan until “they hand over all terrorists and no talks on Jammu & Kashmir, until they recede from the occupied region of Kashmir.”

“Today, I would also like to tell the Global Community that our stated Policy has been that if there are talks with Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism. If there are talks with Pakistan, it will only be on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” said Jaiswal.

MEA also reminded that India has already given a list of the noted terrorists, and any discussions with Pakistan can only be possible when Pakistan hands over those terrorists. “We would like to reiterate that terror and talks cannot go together.”

With regards to the Indus Water Treaty, it has been informed that the treaty will remain suspended, “till the time, Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support to cross-border terrorism”, the MEA asserted unequivocally.

The Ministry also explicitly denied Trump’s repeated claims for mediation on the India-Pakistan ceasefire and that Trade and tariffs have been discussed in the diplomatic exchanges during the time.

The Ministry of External Affairs was briefing India’s position, following the Operation Sindoor.
