Bhairo Singh, a first-time Congress MLA from the Susner constituency in Agar-Malwa district, has stirred political debate after publicly declaring his association with the ‘Sangh’ despite being a member of the principal opposition party.

A video from a Sondhiya caste Mahasabha event held about ten days ago surfaced on social media platform X on Monday, shared by state BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi. In the clip, Singh states, “Despite being in the Congress, I too am associated with the Sangh.”

Responding to the video, Chaturvedi targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, writing, “Rahul Gandhi, you unnecessarily curse the RSS. Your party MLA Bhairo Singh is openly saying that he is associated with the RSS. You should wake up from slumber and don’t look for sleep cells and horses in your party.”

However, the Congress spokesperson in Madhya Pradesh, Bhupendra Gupta, dismissed BJP’s claims, clarifying that the MLA was referring to the ‘Sangh’ of his Sondhiya community, not the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Gupta accused the BJP of deliberately creating controversy.
