“Go or We Will Kill You”: Class-1 Muslim Boy in Haridwar Beaten by Principal, Teacher for Missing a Day; Hand Fractured

muslim boy haridwar

A seven-year-old Muslim boy was beaten by his school principal and teacher in Haridwar’s Jhabrera area after he missed just one day of class. A*, a Class 1 student of Primary School Alampur, was allegedly thrown to the ground by Principal Ravindra, who pressed his shoe on the child’s face, while teacher Rakesh Saini beat him with a stick so badly that his hand fractured. His father has filed a complaint, and marks of the assault are still visible on the boy’s waist and back.

The complaint further mentions that after the beating, the teachers threatened the boy, saying, “Go, or else we will kill you.” Terrified and injured, the child left the school in shock.

Family members have demanded strict legal action under serious sections of law against both teachers. They said suspension would not be enough, the accused must be dismissed from service, charged, and prosecuted.

The incident has sparked outrage, with calls to the Haridwar police, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), and the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) to intervene. Rights activists have also urged the Uttarakhand government to act swiftly.
