Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Purnea on Monday, launched a sharp attack on the Congress and the RJD, accusing them of protecting “infiltrators” and insulting Bihar’s identity. He warned that infiltration was a “serious demographic crisis” in Seemanchal and Eastern India, and pledged that every infiltrator would be removed from the country.
“People of Bihar, Bengal, Assam and many states are worried about the safety of their sisters and daughters,” the Prime Minister said. “From the land of Purnea, I want to tell Congress and RJD clearly — whoever is an infiltrator will have to go. This is Modi’s guarantee.”
He alleged that the opposition parties and their ecosystem were trying to shield infiltrators, staging yatras and raising slogans in their support. “These people want to put both the resources and security of Bihar and the country at stake,” he claimed.
The Prime Minister also targeted the Congress over a controversial social media post by its Kerala unit that appeared to compare Bihar with a beedi (tobacco). “This is a direct insult to Bihar,” Modi said, accusing Congress and RJD of decades of neglect and repeated attempts to defame the state. “They cannot digest Bihar’s development today,” he added.
Modi launched projects worth over ₹36,000 crore during his visit, including the inauguration of a new airport terminal in north Bihar, the launch of the National Makhana Board, and the foundation stone for Bihar’s largest private-sector thermal power project in Bhagalpur. He also laid the foundation for the Kosi-Mechi River Link Project and handed over houses to beneficiaries of rural and urban housing schemes.
With state assembly elections approaching, the Prime Minister urged people to give a “befitting reply” to Congress and RJD. “No matter how much effort they put in, infiltrators will be removed, and Bihar will continue on the path of development,” he said.
