Tension has risen ahead of Holi after members of the Hindu Raksha Dal allegedly wrote “No Road for Muslims” on a national highway near the Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border. The incident, which was first linked to Ghaziabad, was later found during police investigation to have taken place on the Delhi Dehradun highway near the Saharanpur district border.
A 59-second video of the act has surfaced on social media. In the video, several women can be seen painting the words “Yeh sadak Musalmano ke liye nahi hai” on a cement wall along the highway. Some activists are also heard raising religious slogans while the message is being written.
Police have begun an investigation and are identifying those involved based on the video footage.
Hindu Raksha Dal Admits Writing the Message
Hindu Raksha Dal president Pinky Chaudhary admitted that members of his organisation were responsible for writing the message.
Chaudhary said, “Yes, our women activists wrote it. These jihadis have no right to drive on the national highway when they do not pay taxes. When they do not pay road tax, why should they use the road?”
He claimed that the location falls near the Uttarakhand border and may appear to be in the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police officials are verifying the exact spot where the message was painted.
Video Shows Women Writing on Highway Wall
In the viral video, women wearing saffron scarves are seen painting large black and white letters on the side wall of the highway. A male activist is seen recording the act on his phone. After writing the message, slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” are raised.
Authorities believe the act may have been done deliberately to disturb communal harmony before the Holi festival. Police sources said the matter appears to be planned and not spontaneous.
Police said that they are examining the video and identifying those involved. Officials said appropriate action will be taken once the investigation is complete.
