Newly appointed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has rolled out a series of measures impacting the sale of meat, the use of loudspeakers, and noise pollution. The chief minister, representing the Ujjain South Assembly constituency, assumed office after the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a resounding victory in the state elections, claiming 163 out of 230 seats.
In an official statement, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who hails from an RSS background, declared restrictions on the sale of meat and eggs in open spaces, outlining a campaign spearheaded by the food department, police, and local urban bodies. The campaign is set to run from December 15 to December 31, aiming to enforce these new regulations.
“It has also been decided to act against sale of meat and eggs in the open in accordance with the existing food safety rules related guidelines. The action will happen after proper public awareness measures,” Yadav said.
Addressing concerns about noise pollution, the government, under Yadav’s leadership, has imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers at religious gatherings and public spaces that exceed permissible decibel limits.
Yadav said that there’s a need for adherence to prescribed norms when utilizing loudspeakers in any religious place or public setting. To enforce these regulations, flying squads will be established in all districts, tasked with inspecting areas where loudspeakers are used and investigating any violations of the newly implemented rules.
