Several parts of the Kashmir Valley witnessed peaceful protests on Saturday after Eid prayers, as people condemned the recent US-Israel attacks on Iran, officials said.

The demonstrations were held in multiple areas, including Budgam, Bandipora, and Srinagar, where protesters expressed solidarity with Iran and raised slogans against the United States and Israel.

March Led by Aga Syed Hassan in Budgam

A prominent march was taken out in Budgam under the leadership of Aga Syed Hassan, head of the Anjuman-e-Sharie-Shian. The rally took place soon after Eid prayers, with participants carrying Iranian flags and photographs of Ali Khamenei, who was killed in recent strikes.

Protesters raised slogans condemning the US-Israel alliance and voiced support for Iran during the march.

Protests in Bandipora and Srinagar

Similar demonstrations were reported from the Shadipora area of Bandipora district, where protesters shouted slogans such as “Friends of US, Israel are traitors” and “Death to America, Death to Israel.”

Another protest took place in the Hassanabad locality of Srinagar, where people gathered after prayers to register their dissent over the developments in West Asia.

Security Tightened Across the Valley

Authorities had deployed a large number of security personnel in sensitive and vulnerable areas across the Valley to maintain law and order during Eid. Officials confirmed that all protests remained peaceful and concluded without any untoward incident.

Global Events Reflect in Local Sentiment

Eid-ul-Fitr, usually a day of celebration and unity, also became a platform for political expression in parts of Kashmir this year. The protests reflected growing concern among sections of the population over the situation in West Asia, particularly the impact of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
