An 18-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area in the early hours of Tuesday, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Asif, was found critically injured near a temple in Subhash Vihar, North Ghonda. According to police, the incident took place on the intervening night of March 23 and 24.
Victim Found Near Temple, Died During Treatment
Officials said that a police team rushed to the spot after receiving information about the stabbing near Krishna Mandir in Subhash Vihar. However, by the time they arrived, Asif had already been taken to a nearby hospital by his family members.
He was admitted to JPC Hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
A forensic team later visited the crime scene and collected evidence, while the body was sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Family Suspects Possible Known Involvement
The victim’s father, Noor Mohammad, said he was not fully aware of what led to the incident but suggested the possibility of a personal dispute.
“I am not aware of the entire incident. He might have gotten into a conflict. The attackers could be someone known to him,” he said. “He was stabbed and found lying near the temple. We came to know after some children informed us.”
Case Registered, Search for Accused Ongoing
Police have registered a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Bhajanpura police station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashish Mishra said teams have been formed to identify and arrest those involved in the crime.
“The forensic team has collected evidence from the spot. Multiple teams are working to trace the accused at the earliest,” he said.
