A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur on Wednesday night, with police detaining three minors in connection with the case. The incident has triggered shock and fear in the locality.

The victim has been identified as Subhan Malik, who was found critically injured in Nehru Vihar and later declared dead at the hospital.

Father’s Emotional Appeal for Justice

Subhan’s father, Dilshad Malik, said his son had left home around 8 pm, and the family was informed hours later about the attack.

“He was my son, Subhan Malik. He was stabbed to death by 3 to 4 boys. He had left our home at 8 pm. We came to know at 11 to 11.30 pm that he had been stabbed and that the police had rushed him to the hospital,” he said.

“We demand justice for my son. The accused should be given stringent punishment,” he added.

Expressing grief, he said, “My son was murdered. Had they beaten him up, I would have forgiven them. But this cannot be forgiven; he has been killed.”

He also said that his son was a Hafiz e Quran and had no known disputes. “He had no enmity with anyone. I don’t know under what excuse they called my son out of our house,” he said.

Mother Alleges Attackers Were Known

The boy’s mother, Shabana, claimed that the attackers were known to her son.

“My child was killed without any reason. The boys who attacked him were known to him, they first hugged him and then killed him,” she said.

Her statement has added another layer to the investigation, suggesting that the victim may have trusted those who attacked him.

Police Detain Three Minors

Police said three minors, aged between 13 and 17, have been taken into custody soon after the incident.

According to officials, the accused told investigators that the victim had allegedly been bullying one of them. This claim is currently being verified as part of the probe.

A knife believed to have been used in the crime has also been recovered based on their inputs.

Investigation Underway

Subhan was found unconscious in a lane in Nehru Vihar and was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body was later sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for post mortem.

A forensic team has examined the crime scene, and police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to establish the sequence of events.

Officials said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is ongoing.
