Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh visited Nagpur on Friday, where he paid tributes to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and his successor Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar at their memorials.
According to reports, the actor visited the Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh, where both leaders are commemorated. During the visit, RSS representatives briefed him about the lives and contributions of the organisation’s early leaders and explained the historical importance of the site.
Meeting with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat
Ranveer Singh also met Mohan Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters in Mahal. The interaction reportedly lasted over an hour, during which the two discussed the actor’s recent film projects as well as the organisation’s activities and service initiatives.
Sources said the visit was kept low-key, with tight security arrangements in place. Singh arrived at the airport in the afternoon and headed directly to the RSS office before visiting the memorial complex.
Visit Amid Film Success
The visit comes at a time when Ranveer Singh is receiving widespread attention for his film Dhurandhar 2, which has performed strongly at the box office and crossed the ₹1000 crore mark globally.
The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, is a spy action thriller that explores the journey of Singh’s character from his early life to becoming a key figure in intelligence operations. It is set against the backdrop of major geopolitical events and focuses on dismantling terror networks.
Details of the Visit
Officials said Singh spent around one-and-a-half hours at the RSS headquarters before proceeding to the memorial site. After completing his engagements, he returned to the airport and flew back to Mumbai later in the evening.
The actor’s visit had not been publicly announced in advance, and visuals of him in a white kurta surfaced on social media after his arrival, drawing attention from fans.
Previous Association with RSS Events
This is not the first time Singh has engaged with the RSS. He had earlier extended greetings to the organisation during its centenary celebrations on Vijayadashami, acknowledging its work over the years.
Upcoming Projects
Following the success of Dhurandhar 2, Singh is set to appear in the upcoming film Pralay, a post-apocalyptic thriller directed by Jai Mehta.
