In anticipation of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarts an 11-day special ritual.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Only 11 days remain to the pranpratishtha of Ramlalla in Ayodhya. I am fortunate that I too will witness this holy occasion. God created me to represent all the citizens of India during pranpratishtha. Keeping this in mind, I am beginning an 11-day special anushthan from today.”

“I am short of words to express my emotions at this point of time. It is an initiative on my part,” Modi said.

In Hindu tradition, the consecration ceremony, known as ‘pran pratishtha,’ involves detailed rituals for idol installation with specific rules to be followed. Before the ceremony, adherents observe a fast, incorporating daily practices like Brahma Muhurat Jagran, prayers, and a simple diet as outlined in Hindu scriptures.

The ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ ceremony for Ram Lalla, the infant Lord Ram, is set to commence on January 16 with Vedic rituals, a week before the main ceremony. The event, drawing significant global attention, has attracted invitations for several VVIP guests from India and abroad.

However, key figures from the Congress party, including national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi, and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, have declined the invitation, labelling it as an event of the BJP and the RSS.
