A madrasa student from Bihar who allegedly faced assault while travelling by train during the Bakrid holidays has safely returned home after briefly going missing, bringing relief to his worried family.

Faizan Raza, a student of Darul Uloom Amjadia Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district, had boarded the Purvanchal Express from Mau Junction on May 25 to return to his home in Bihar’s Gopalganj district for Eid-ul-Adha holidays.

According to family members, Faizan sent a distress message to his father during the journey, claiming that some people in the train were beating him.

“Abbu, there has been a fight in the train… everyone is beating me… I am messaging while hiding,” Faizan allegedly wrote in a WhatsApp message.

Family Panicked After Phone Switched Off

The message left the family shocked and frightened. When relatives tried contacting him, his mobile phone was switched off. The family then approached the police and lodged a complaint after losing contact with him.

For some time, Faizan’s whereabouts remained unknown, triggering concern on social media, where several users demanded urgent action and appealed for his safe recovery.

Student Contacted Family From Guwahati

Later, Faizan briefly spoke to his family over the phone and informed them that he had reached Guwahati in Assam. During the call, he reportedly told his family, “My mind is not working.”

The family advised him to stay there temporarily, saying they knew some people in Guwahati who could help him.

Faizan Raza, a resident of Churaman Chak Bhatwalia village under Phulwaria police station area in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, has now safely returned home, according to reports.

Social Media Users Thank Authorities

After news of his safe return emerged, many social media users thanked the police, railway authorities and people who helped trace him.

The incident had sparked anxiety because of previous cases in which members of the Muslim community were allegedly targeted in trains due to their religious identity.

Concerns Grew Due to Similar Past Incidents

The report also referred to the recent death of Maulana Tausif, who was allegedly assaulted while travelling by train before his body was later found near railway tracks.

Because of such incidents, Faizan’s disappearance after the alleged assault and his phone going unreachable had raised fears among his family members that something serious might have happened to him.
