Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district have taken action against three youths after a video allegedly showed them riding a motorcycle and chanting “Jai Shri Ram” in a Muslim-majority locality in Budhana town.

The video, which circulated widely on social media, prompted police intervention. Officials said the incident took place in a sensitive area where such activity could potentially disturb communal harmony and public peace.

Three Youths Identified Through Video

According to police, the three youths were identified as Vijay, Mani and Vansh after officers examined the viral footage.

Inspector Subhash Atri said police took action based on concerns that the incident could trigger tension in the locality.

“On the basis of the video, the three youths riding the bike were identified as Vijay, Mani and Vansh. Such activity in a sensitive area was likely to disturb communal harmony and peace,” Atri said.

Arrested Under Breach of Peace Charges

Police arrested the three youths and booked them under sections related to breach of peace. They were later produced before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court.

Officials said preventive action was taken to avoid any disturbance to law and order in the area.

Court Grants Bail on ₹4 Lakh Bond Each

Considering the seriousness of the matter, the SDM court granted bail to all three accused after they furnished bonds of ₹4 lakh each.

Police have appealed to residents to maintain communal harmony and avoid activities that could create tension.

“We appeal to citizens to maintain mutual brotherhood and stay away from inflammatory activities,” police said.
