Mohammad Faizan Raza, a student from Bihar studying at Darul Uloom Amjadiya Ghosi Madrasa in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district, had sparked concern after allegedly sending a WhatsApp message to his father claiming he was being assaulted on a train.
Faizan was reportedly travelling home to Bihar for the Bakrid holidays when he informed his family that he was being attacked. Soon after the message, his phone allegedly switched off, and he disappeared, raising fears among relatives.
The incident triggered panic in the family and led to concerns over the student’s safety.
Father Says No Assault Took Place
However, the case has now taken a different turn.
In a video statement released by the family, Faizan’s father said his son later admitted during police questioning that no assault had taken place on the train.

“My son confessed that he was not beaten or attacked. He did not want to study and therefore gave false information,” Faizan’s father said in the video.
According to him, Faizan allegedly created the story to frighten family members so they would not send him back to the madrasa.
Student Reached Katihar on His Own
Faizan reportedly told police that he had travelled on his own from Gorakhpur Junction to Katihar.
Initially, he allegedly gave conflicting statements to police and claimed that someone had drugged him on the train, causing confusion about where he was going.
However, after questioning, police said he admitted that the assault story was false.

‘Could Not Continue Studies’
According to the family, Faizan reportedly told police that he had been trying hard to study but struggled with memorising lessons from the Quran.
The father said Faizan was unable to openly tell the family that he no longer wanted to continue madrasa education.
“He did not know how to tell us directly that he could not study anymore, so he made up the story,” the father said.
Case Clarified After Investigation
The clarification comes after initial concerns about the student’s alleged disappearance and claims of assault while travelling by train.
Police reportedly questioned the student after tracing him and later concluded that there was no attack involved. Further details regarding any formal police action were not immediately available.
