A 48-year-old Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee in Pune allegedly died by suicide after prolonged workplace harassment and personal disputes, according to a police complaint filed by his family. The deceased, identified as Amit Abhay Bramhe, reportedly left behind a suicide note naming two female colleagues and a man accused of filing false complaints and allegedly disrupting his personal and professional life.
The incident took place on June 2 at Bramhe’s residence in the Bhosari area of Pimpri Chinchwad. His 19-year-old son later filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Bhosari police station on June 9.
Suicide Note Names Two TCS Employees and One Man
According to police, Bramhe named three individuals in his suicide note — two women employed at TCS, identified as Archana and Shashwati, and a man named Vinod Pali (also referred to in some reports as Vinod Palicha), who was not associated with the company.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case against all three under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to abetment of suicide.
Senior Police Inspector Sandip Ghorpade of Bhosari police station said an investigation has been initiated and notices have been issued to TCS authorities regarding the allegations against the two employees.
“We have initiated a probe in this case. We have issued a notice to TCS authorities to investigate the two accused women,” Ghorpade said, adding that police are also searching for the third accused.
Allegations of Workplace Harassment
The FIR alleges that Bramhe faced humiliation and harassment at work. According to the complaint, the two women colleagues allegedly insulted him in front of other employees, removed him from a favourable project, and reassigned him to work outside his expertise.
The complaint further claims they threatened to submit negative feedback about his performance, which allegedly caused severe mental stress.
The two employees were reportedly part of TCS’s DEG project team.
Personal Dispute Allegedly Escalated Into Complaints
Police documents state that the third accused, Vinod Pali, allegedly filed false police complaints and legal notices against Bramhe following a personal dispute.

According to the FIR, Bramhe’s wife, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, became friends with Pali’s wife through Facebook in 2024. The two families later came into contact.
However, Pali allegedly believed his wife had left for the Philippines because of the Bramhe family. The FIR claims he then filed false complaints of cheating and theft against Amit Bramhe at Hinjewadi police station, issued a lawyer’s notice, and sent what the family described as fabricated complaints to TCS management through email.
The complaint alleges these actions caused significant emotional and professional distress to Bramhe.
TCS Responds to Employee’s Death
TCS expressed condolences over Bramhe’s death and said the company was cooperating with authorities.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague, Amit Bramhe. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time,” the company said in a statement.
TCS added that it was reviewing the allegations against the two employees and extending support to the bereaved family.
“We have also taken note of the allegations against the two employees and are ascertaining the facts. Complete cooperation is being extended to relevant authorities,” the statement added.
Investigation Underway
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and further action will depend on evidence gathered during the probe. Meanwhile, employee rights body NITES has reportedly sought an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bramhe’s death.
