Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Javed Ali Khan launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his visit to Moradabad, accusing the ruling party of creating divisions in society on religious lines.

Speaking at a political event, Khan said an atmosphere had developed in the country where people were increasingly becoming distant from one another because of religion.

“The BJP has spread poison in society, and unfortunately, a large section of the majority community has started absorbing it and has become deeply affected,” Khan said.

SP to Expand Outreach in Hindu-Majority Areas

Talking about the political landscape in Sambhal and Moradabad, Khan said the Samajwadi Party had historically enjoyed strong support in places like Sambhal since the time of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

He said the party would now focus more on regions where Muslim or minority populations are lower and Hindu populations are larger.

“In areas like Sambhal, we do not face much difficulty in conveying our message because the party has had a strong base for years. Now our focus will be on areas where minority populations are smaller and Hindu populations are larger,” Khan said.

He added that party workers would be responsible for reaching out to people in those regions and convincing them to move away from BJP’s influence.

‘Speaking After Seeing the Situation’

Clarifying his remarks, Khan said he was not directly blaming any particular group but was commenting on the present social atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh and across the country.

“I am saying this after seeing the current environment. Earlier, people shared love, trust and mutual understanding, but now that social bonding has weakened,” he said.

According to Khan, the political climate has negatively impacted relationships between communities and reduced trust among people.

Senior SP Leaders Attend PDA Conference

Khan made the remarks while attending a major “PDA Conference” organised by the Samajwadi Party in Moradabad on Sunday evening.

Several senior party leaders were present at the event, including former MP S. T. Hasan, former cabinet minister and MLA Kamal Akhtar, and MLA Nasir Qureshi.

The conference was seen as an effort by the Samajwadi Party to strengthen its political messaging and outreach ahead of future electoral battles in Uttar Pradesh.
