Bajrang Dal workers burned an effigy of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan in Bihar’s Forbesganj on Tuesday, days after his reported marriage to Gauri Spratt, accusing the actor of promoting “love jihad.”
Videos from the protest showed workers wearing saffron shawls raising slogans such as “Aamir Khan murdabad” and “Aamir Khan jihadi Bharat chhodo” while setting the effigy on fire.
The protest was organised following Khan’s reported marriage to Gauri Spratt on July 5.
Bajrang Dal Leader Levels ‘Love Jihad’ Allegations
Bajrang Dal leader Manoj Soni released a video statement accusing Khan of repeatedly marrying Hindu women and alleging that he was insulting Hindu society.
“He is repeatedly marrying Hindu women and challenging Hindu society. Where are the law, legal system and the courts?” Soni said.

He further alleged that the actor was part of a larger conspiracy to weaken Hindus.
“By repeatedly marrying Hindu women, he is creating divisions in Hindu society. If he does not stop such actions, we will teach him a lesson,” Soni said.
Referring to Khan’s children, Soni claimed, “He marries Hindu women but gives his children Muslim names. Why does he not marry women from the Muslim community?”
He also demanded that the government take strict action against the actor.
Woman Leader Also Criticises Actor
A woman leader associated with the protest also criticised Khan, claiming that if he were a “true Muslim,” he would have married Muslim women.
“You are an actor and a star with a handsome face. Why do you marry Hindu women?” she said during the protest.
Aamir Khan’s Previous Marriages
Aamir Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta and later to filmmaker Kiran Rao. His reported marriage to Gauri Spratt has drawn attention on social media and has now led to protests by Bajrang Dal workers.
The allegations of “love jihad” made during the protest reflect a conspiracy theory promoted by some Hindu nationalist groups. There is no legal or judicial finding establishing that Aamir Khan’s marriage is linked to any such allegation. No response from the actor regarding the protest was immediately available.
