Telangana Muslim Family Claims Neighbours Attacked Their Home With Sticks After Parking Row; Seeks Counter-FIR

A Muslim family in Telangana’s Medak district has alleged that they were attacked by a group of neighbours armed with sticks after a dispute over parking a vehicle outside their house. The family has also claimed that police registered a case only against their relatives while failing to take action against the alleged attackers.

The incident took place in Pothamshettipalle village in Kulcharam mandal, where Mohammed Khaja Rasheed Uddin and his wife, Saleha Begum, have been living for nearly 20 years.

According to the family’s account, the dispute began when their daughter, Tameer Taranum, along with her husband Mohd Arif and his brother Mohd Saleem, visited them and parked their Bolero vehicle outside the house.

The family alleged that neighbour Kommula Revanth Goud objected to the vehicle being parked there. Although they informed him that the vehicle would be moved shortly, he allegedly abused them and threatened them. They further claimed that Kommula Ramesh Goud and his wife, Kommula Radha, later joined the argument, resulting in a minor altercation.

Police reportedly intervened at the spot, following which the vehicle was removed.

Family Alleges Mob Returned and Attacked House

The family alleged that around 30 to 45 minutes later, Kommula Ramesh Goud and Kommula Revanth Goud returned with a group of relatives and associates armed with sticks and other weapons.

According to the complaint, the group attacked the family’s house from multiple sides, damaging doors and windows. Mohammed Khaja Rasheed Uddin, Saleha Begum, their daughter Tameer Taranum and her minor son allegedly sustained injuries during the incident.

The family also claimed that the attack took place in the presence of police personnel.

Allegation of One-Sided Police Action

The family has alleged that despite the attack, police registered a case only against Mohd Arif and Mohd Saleem, who were subsequently arrested and remanded, while no action has been taken against those accused of carrying out the assault.

MBT Leader Demands Fair Investigation

Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan said he had spoken to the victim’s family and senior police officials after learning about the incident.

“As soon as I came to know about the incident, I spoke to Mohammed Khaja Rasheed Uddin and his family and also discussed the matter with senior police officials of Medak District. Subsequently, a written complaint was submitted to the Sub-Inspector of Police, Kulcharam Police Station seeking registration of a counter-case against all those involved in the attack,” Khan said.

He urged the Telangana government and police authorities to ensure an impartial investigation.

“I urge Revanth Reddy, the Telangana CMO, Telangana DGP and the Medak Superintendent of Police to ensure a fair, impartial and transparent investigation, register a case against all accused persons, and deliver justice to the victims,” he said.

Police have not yet publicly responded to the family’s allegations. The claims made by the family and MBT leader have not been independently verified.
