According to the student, the alleged harassment began while she was attending computer classes. She said the repeated incidents left her distressed and forced her to discontinue her studies.

After nearly a year, the student decided to resume her computer classes. However, she alleged that the same youths again began harassing her.

Disturbed by the alleged incidents, the student returned home and informed her family about what had happened. She later went to Amethi Kotwali with her mother and submitted a complaint to the police.
