Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa is under scrutiny as allegations of sexual assault under a section of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act have surfaced against him.
The case was registered by the Sadashivanagar police in Bengaluru following a complaint from the mother of a 17-year-old girl. Police sources indicate that the alleged incident took place on February 2 during a meeting between the 81-year-old Yediyurappa, the mother, and the daughter, who sought assistance in a cheating case.
B S Yediyurappa, who held the position of chief minister of Karnataka from 2008 to 2011, briefly in May 2018, and again from July 2019 to 2021, now faces serious allegations that could have legal and political ramifications.
The case is currently under investigation, and further developments are awaited.
