A six-year-old kindergarten girl was left bleeding in a locked classroom after being allegedly assaulted by an eight-year-old Class 3 student at Government Sanskriti Model Senior Secondary School in Panchkula, Haryana, on October 28. She was later referred to PGI Chandigarh for treatment. Police have launched an investigation.

According to reports, the boy lured the girl upstairs, where he repeatedly attacked her. He allegedly struck her head against a desk and hit her with bricks and stones until she lost consciousness.

The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras in the classroom, and footage later went viral. The girl was allegedly left unattended for several hours before she was rushed to a hospital, which the family says shows how long the treatment was delayed.

The girl’s father, speaking to News Himachal 18, said the boy was in Class 3 and his daughter was in kindergarten, and that the two children had no prior connection. He asked people to pray for her. Doctors had told him that her condition was stable, he said, but she had suffered several injuries to her face and could not open her eyes.

“Today, this happened to my daughter; tomorrow, it could happen to someone else’s daughter,” he said, urging parents to pay closer attention to their children.

In a separate conversation with Chandigarh Dinbhar, he made further allegations. He claimed the boy stood on his daughter’s stomach, as if checking whether she was alive. He also alleged that the boy played the video game PUBG and that his intention was to kill other children, in the way targets are chosen in the game.

The father described the moment he found his daughter. The boy came to him, he said, and told him that he knew where she was and that someone had beaten her. When he reached the classroom, the door was locked. The boy asked him to look through the window, and he saw his daughter lying inside, covered in blood.

“If children are not safe in government schools, where will they be safe? Answer me,” he asked the reporter.

Her uncle had earlier told IANS that the school was short-staffed that afternoon, because some teachers were on government duty elsewhere and classes had been combined. He said the principal’s duty hours ended at 3 pm, and that nobody was watching the CCTV feed in the principal’s office when the girl was taken upstairs.

The incident has caused outrage on social media, with many users demanding accountability and the suspension of those responsible for running the school.

One such reaction came from X user Darab Farooqui, who wrote:

“I just saw this video from Panchkula school, and I can’t breathe.

The girl is Muslim. I don’t know about the boy, but knowing India, and how Sanghi children are being radicalised, the police should investigate whether there is a communal angle.

This level of brutality and cruelty is unbelievable.” X user wrote.

Several other X users have also demanded the immediate suspension of the officials responsible for the school’s administration and questioned the accountability of those entrusted with children’s safety.
