At the Delhi-Seelampur Metro Station, a Muslim man who was carrying Iftari in his lunchbox was allegedly stopped and later assaulted physically by CISF soldiers. This incident happened on Sunday, April 7, and soon became widely shared on social media causing widespread outrage.

According to media reports, the man was halted and interrogated by the CISF soldiers when they noticed a man carrying a lunchbox. The man claims that he was beaten up after objecting to the soldiers’ behaviour. Videos of the incident show the man, dressed in a kurta pajama and a skull cap, engaging in a verbal altercation over a tiffin box with CISF personnel at the Delhi-Seelampur metro station. Another clip shows the man and a CISF soldier involved in physical assault.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many expressing shock and anger at the mistreatment of the Muslim man. Swara Bhasker, a prominent Indian actress, expressed her dismay, stating, “This is absolutely shameful @CISFHQrs. This Muslim youth was beaten up by CISF soldiers for carrying Iftari in his lunchbox. Why are we creating such an atmosphere of hate and violence in our country?”

Bhasker demanded immediate legal action and an investigation into what she believed was a hate crime based on religion. So far, the CISF has not issued an official statement. The incident has raised concerns about the growing Islamophobia in the country.
