Minor Girl Abducted on Eid Day, Gang-Raped in Kashmir’s Baramulla

A minor girl from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has been allegedly gang-raped after being kidnapped. Local media said that the girl left her home on Wednesday to go to the Pattan railway station but did not return, leading to panic among her family.

According to sources reported by The Kashmiriyat, after failing to locate her, the family filed an FIR with the Jammu Kashmir Police, alleging that unknown individuals had kidnapped their daughter from the railway station in Pattan. The FIR, registered under section 363 (kidnapping), states that the girl’s father reported her kidnapping on June 19, 2024.

The case, registered as FIR number 219 of 2024, has been assigned to an SI-rank police officer for further investigation, supported by a head constable and other personnel. Detailed information will be provided as a supplementary report.

In response to the FIR, the Jammu Kashmir Police recovered the minor girl from Pattan, Baramulla. A police officer confirmed that the girl was kidnapped and taken to Srinagar, where she was raped by three individuals at a rented accommodation. Following the victim’s statement, three suspects have been arrested.
