Man Arrested for Waving Palestinian Flag During Muharram Procession in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi

A man has been arrested for waving the Palestinian flag during a Muharram procession in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 7, when a procession, which lacked official police permission, was taken out on the National Highway in the Madhosingh area. A video of the procession, showing the Palestinian flag alongside the Indian flag, went viral on social media platforms.

A case has been registered under Section 197 (2) of the Bharatiya Naya Sanhitha (BNS), which pertains to imputations and assertions prejudicial to national integration.

According to Sachchidanand Pandey, the Station House Officer (SHO) in charge of the Aurai police station, Sahil and Gorakh have been identified as the main accused. Sahil has been arrested, and police are currently searching for Gorakh.
