Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday urged the Muslim community to back the Congress party in the upcoming elections, cautioning that voting for regional parties could strengthen the BJP at the national level.

Speaking in Hyderabad, Reddy said, “The political fight in India is between two major families – the ‘Modi Parivar,’ which divides people on religious lines, and the ‘Gandhi Parivar,’ which strives for national unity.”

Reddy warned that a stronger BJP could lead to reduced constitutional rights and the erosion of minority reservations. “If BJP gains more power, it will weaken the rights of minorities and dilute the reservations that protect their opportunities,” he said.

He also criticized regional parties, claiming their promises might not hold up against the BJP’s influence. “Regional parties can’t stop the BJP. Only Congress has the strength to ensure equality and protect the interests of minorities,” he said, appealing to voters to place their trust in Congress.
