All India Muslim Women Association Conference in Hyderabad Calls for Unity, Education, and Protection of Community Rights

The All India Muslim Women Association hosted a significant conference in Hyderabad on January 21, 2025, at the Banjara Function Hall in Banjara Hills. The event, titled “The Role of Women in Safety Protection, and Progress of the Muslim Community,” saw the participation of over 2000 women from across India, including Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Bihar, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and several other cities.

Ms. Asma Nadeem, Convener of the Women’s Conference 2025, highlighted the association’s 30-year journey in empowering Muslim women through initiatives such as the Muslim Girls’ Association and the Muslim Women’s Association. She said the continuous efforts of women in Hyderabad in areas like education, social service, and women’s empowerment was important.

“We’ve worked tirelessly in spreading awareness, focusing on the empowerment of women, and fostering social reform. We are proud of the contributions women have made to our community’s development,” Ms. Nadeem stated.

Shamim Fatima, the State President of the Telangana All India Muslim Women Association, addressed the gathering by quoting verses from the Holy Quran.

“The qualities of women mentioned in Surah Al-Ahzab, such as Muslimat, Muminat, and Zakirat, are vital for the protection of our community,” she said.

She urged women to preserve their faith, culture, and civilization, warning of the dangers facing Muslim families today.

Maulana Obaidullah Azmi, Vice President of the Muslim Personal Law Board and Chief Guest at the event, spoke on the importance of education and the contributions of women like Khadijah bint Khuwaylid.

“We must support the community with the same dedication that our ancestors did. The survival of the Muslim community depends on education and the unity of our women,” he said.

Maulana Arif Kaleem, Principal of Jamia Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamma, also spoke, reminding the audience of the golden legacy left by Muslim women throughout history.

“The mothers of the believers and the female companions of the Prophet (PBUH) contributed greatly to the survival of our society. We must follow their example,” he said.

Muhammad Adeeb, President of Indian Muslims for Civil Rights, appreciated the active participation of women in the conference, calling it a sign of hope for the future. He said there’s the need to fight against poverty and ignorance, while dedicating efforts towards the progress of the community.

Mushtaq Malik, President of Tehreek Muslim Shabban, highlighted key issues such as the CAA, NRC, and the protection of Waqf properties, underlining the role women can play in addressing these challenges.

“Women are essential in fighting for the rights of our community,” he said.

The conference also featured speeches from several other prominent speakers.

Ms. Asma Shah, an educationist and guest of honor, stressed the importance of family stability for a strong society.

“We need to prioritize our families and protect our homes. The survival of our community depends on it,” she said.

Ms. Yasmin Farooqi from Jaipur spoke on the increasing hostility against Muslims in India and the threat posed by the Waqf Amendment Bill.

“If passed, this bill could erase the identity and heritage of our community,” she warned.

Dr. Asma Zahra, President of the All India Muslim Women’s Association, called for organized efforts to protect Islamic practices and cultural heritage.

“Islam has given us a complete code of conduct for our personal and collective lives. We must stand together to safeguard our faith and values,” she urged.

The conference concluded with a resolution to focus on education, cultural preservation, and community development, reaffirming the pivotal role women play in shaping the future of the Muslim community.
