An assistant teacher in Aminabad Badha village under the Kithore Assembly constituency in Meerut has been suspended over allegations of irregularities linked to the electoral process.
The action was taken after complaints surfaced about the alleged deletion of voters’ names in the village. Assistant teacher Zafar Ali, who was also serving as a Booth Level Officer, was accused of attempting to influence or disrupt the election-related proceedings.
The matter was investigated by the Assistant Returning Officer of Kithore. Following the inquiry, Zafar Ali was found guilty of not following the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure.
Meerut District Magistrate Dr VK Singh said, “BLO Zafar Ali did not follow the Standard Operating Procedure. He gathered a crowd of people and tried to corrupt the proceedings of the election process.”
Officials said that due to the seriousness of the allegations and the findings of the investigation, suspension action has been taken against him. Further departmental proceedings are expected to follow as per the rules.
