‘Baseless and Misleading’: Al-Falah University Rejects Allegations Linking It to Red Fort Blast Suspects

UGC-recognised Al-Falah University has denied any links with the doctors arrested in connection with the alleged interstate terror module case. The clarification came after reports identified the suspected Red Fort suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Nabi, as an assistant professor at the university, while another faculty member, Dr. Muzammil Shakil, was detained from his rented accommodation in Faridabad.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the university said, “They have no connection with the said persons apart from them being working in their official capacities with the University.”

Vice Chancellor Prof. Bhupinder Kaur Anand expressed shock over the incident. “We are deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments that took place and condemn the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events,” she said.

The university confirmed that two of its doctors had been detained by investigating agencies but maintained that the institution had no involvement in their alleged activities. “We wish to make it clear that the University has no connection with the said persons apart from them being working in their official capacities with the University,” the statement read.

Addressing online rumours, the university criticised media platforms for spreading false information. “The University notes with deep concern that certain online platforms are circulating baseless and misleading stories with the clear intent of maligning the reputation and goodwill of the University. We strongly condemn and categorically deny all such false and defamatory allegations,” the statement said.

It further clarified, “No such chemical or material, as is being alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored, or handled within the University premises.”
