In Parli town in Maharashtra’s Beed district, two close friends allegedly killed a 36-year-old man over a money dispute and later tried to make it look like a suicide by placing his body on railway tracks.

The victim was identified as Tauheed Khan alias Afzal Pathan, a resident of Parli. Police have arrested his friends, Rishikesh Phad (27) and Gaurav Vyas (26), in connection with the murder.

According to police, the incident took place on May 31 in the Varvati area near Parli. Investigators said the three men had gone together in a car and consumed alcohol during the day.

Murder Allegedly Happened During Drunken Argument

Police said a heated argument broke out between the three men over a financial issue during a late-night drinking session. The fight reportedly turned violent, after which the two accused allegedly attacked Tauheed with a large stone.

Officials said Tauheed suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.

According to the investigation, the accused then stayed near the body for several hours before deciding to cover up the crime.

“They tried to create the impression that Tauheed had died by suicide,” police sources said.

The accused allegedly carried the body in a car and dumped it on railway tracks in the Lendhewadi area to make it appear like a train accident or suicide.

Stray Dogs Exposed Alleged Murder Plot

However, the alleged plan failed after stray dogs reportedly dragged the body away from the railway tracks before any train passed through the area.

On the morning of June 1, local residents found Tauheed’s blood-covered body lying near the tracks and informed police, triggering panic in the area.

Police launched an investigation using CCTV footage, mobile call records, and local intelligence inputs. Within 48 hours, the Local Crime Branch detained the two suspects.

Officials said both accused initially tried to mislead investigators during questioning but later allegedly confessed to the crime.

A murder case has been registered at Parli Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

Family Demands Justice

The murder sparked anger in the area, with community members demanding strict punishment for the accused.

After the incident, Kamran Khan, district chief of the Shiv Sena Minority Wing, visited Tauheed Khan’s family in Parli and met his brother, Firoz Khan.

Calling the killing “inhuman and cruel,” Kamran Khan demanded strict action against the accused.

“The brutal way in which Tauheed Khan was murdered is deeply disturbing and a shame on humanity. The accused should get the strictest punishment,” he said.

He also expressed concern over the condition of Tauheed’s young children and assured the family of legal support.

“The family has suffered a huge loss. The administration must ensure quick justice,” he added.
