A 25-year-old engineer from Bihar’s Siwan district has gone missing in Iran amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
Siraj Ali Ansari, a resident of Ramapali village, works as a quality control engineer in a petroleum company and was posted in Iran since June 9. His family last heard from him on June 17, when he assured them he was safe despite the escalating conflict nearby.
Hazrat Ali, Siraj’s father, told the media, “Siraj informed us after reaching Iran but after June 17, all communication stopped despite repeated attempts to contact him.” He added that bombing began near Siraj’s location shortly after their last call.
The family has approached the Siwan district administration for help. They filed a formal complaint on June 21, requesting intervention to trace Siraj’s whereabouts and ensure his safe return.
District Magistrate Aditya Prakash said, “We have collected all necessary information and are coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs for Siraj’s safe return. We are doing everything possible.”
Siraj’s uncles expressed hope that the Union government would respond positively. Akhtar Ali Ansari said, “Siraj is the eldest sibling and the family’s sole breadwinner. His disappearance has left us all shocked. We trust the authorities will help bring him back safely.”
The family continues to await news amid the uncertainty caused by the volatile situation in Iran.
