Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films, in collaboration with The Content Engineer, has officially announced the release of Operation Sindoor, a film inspired by India’s military response to the Pahalgam attack.
The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, “targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives, including that of a local horse operator.”
The film’s title, Operation Sindoor, holds cultural and symbolic significance in Hindu traditions, where sindoor (vermilion) represents marriage or victory, often worn by women or applied as a tilak by warriors. The film’s poster features a female soldier in uniform, applying sindoor while holding a rifle, set against a backdrop of military imagery like tanks and fighter jets.
The filmmakers have said that the film connects with national security operations, promising an intense, emotionally charged narrative. Uttam Maheshwari will direct the project, though the cast has not yet been revealed.
The film’s announcement comes amid ongoing discussions on the broader consequences of war. General Manoj Naravane, former Indian Army Chief, recently stated that war should be the last resort, emphasizing the trauma and lasting effects of conflict on civilians, particularly those living near the border.
“War is not romantic. It is not your Bollywood movie. It is very serious business,” General Naravane remarked during a speech in Pune. He stressed that while diplomacy should always be the first option, military action would be taken if necessary.
