BSP MP Danish Ali has accused certain factions of plotting his “lynching” outside the parliamentary arena. This allegation comes in response to BJP leader Nishikant Dubey’s claim that Ali made “unsavoury” remarks that incited ruling party MP Ramesh Bidhuri during a discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3. The derogatory comments made by Bidhuri have ignited a political firestorm, with opposition leaders demanding stringent action against the BJP MP.
Nishikant Dubey had addressed a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging him to investigate Ali’s alleged “unsavoury” conduct and remarks during the parliamentary session. In this letter, Dubey went further, alleging that Ali had made “highly objectionable and blasphemous” remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which had triggered Bidhuri’s reaction.
Responding to Dubey’s allegations, Danish Ali stated, “I have seen Nishikant Dubey’s letter. My verbal lynching was done inside the House, and now this is a narrative to get me lynched outside the House. I would request the Speaker to investigate this baseless allegation. This baseless allegation makes a case for a breach of privilege against Nishikant Dubey.”
In a countermove, Dubey reiterated his condemnation of Bidhuri’s comments, asserting that any civilized society would not accept such behavior. However, he labeled Ali as a repeat offender and suggested that evidence of his “misconduct” in the House would soon surface. Dubey also claimed that Ali was planning to join the Congress and alleged a “conspiracy” to depict that “minorities are not safe” in the country.
In a statement on social media, Danish Ali countered these claims, saying, “The principle of ‘Res ipsa loquitur,’ which means ‘the thing speaks for itself,’ suggests that the claims of Sh @nishikant_dubey have no basis. What has happened is a blot and absolutely undeniable. Fictionalizing the events and playing with the facts will not work this time.” Ali reiterated his stance that he had tried to protect the Prime Minister’s dignity during the parliamentary session.
“It is on record that Ramesh Bidhuri used derogatory words about the PM, and instead, Nishikant Dubey is accusing me of it,” Ali said, emphasizing that the BJP’s true nature had been revealed.
Opposition parties have rallied around Danish Ali, criticizing the ruling party over the issue. Numerous members of the Congress, TMC, and NCP, among others, have written to the Speaker seeking the strictest action against Bidhuri for his derogatory comments.
