Ahmedabad Tension After Hindu Man Killed in Motorcycle Dispute; Shops Set Ablaze

Man killed in stabbing after bike crash dispute in Dhandhuka, Ahmedabad; shops set ablaze, police arrest accused.

A violent altercation following a motorcycle collision in Dhandhuka turned fatal on Saturday, leaving one man dead and triggering arson in the area, police said.

The incident began when two men from different communities got into a dispute after their motorcycles collided. The situation escalated when members of one group reportedly went to the other person’s house, leading to a confrontation.

Victim Dies After Stabbing

According to Ahmedabad Rural Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat, the victim, Dharmesh Gamara (30), was stabbed in the leg during the clash.

“He suffered severe bleeding and later died. After his death, tensions escalated in the area,” the officer said.

Shops Torched, Properties Damaged

Following the killing, a group of people allegedly set fire to seven to eight roadside shops. Videos circulating on social media showed flames engulfing small structures and thick smoke rising into the sky.

Several properties were damaged in the violence, raising concerns over communal tension in the region.

Police Action and Arrests

Police and fire brigade teams quickly reached the spot and brought the situation under control. “The fires have been doused, and the situation is now under control,” SP Jat said.

Authorities have launched combing operations and increased patrolling in the area to prevent further escalation.

Two individuals, identified as Samir and Rizwan, have been arrested in connection with the हत्या of Gamara. Additionally, 15 to 20 people have been detained for their alleged involvement in the arson.

Situation Under Control, Probe Continues

Police said investigations are ongoing to identify others involved in the violence. Security has been tightened in and around the area to maintain peace.

Officials added that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the killing and subsequent destruction of property.
