Cop in Bihar Caught on Camera Thrashing Dalit Woman

In Sitamarhi, Bihar, an incident involving a cop, Inspector Rajkishore Singh, beating a Dalit woman in public has sparked concerns over police brutality.

The police assert the officer was attempting to maintain order after a fight related to a kidnapping case.

“The cop was seen thrashing the woman on the street with a stick amid angry exchanges by a crowd,” as shown in a video, raising public outrcy.

Sitamarhi Police issued a statement, stating, “A probe has been ordered into the incident.”

Vinod Kumar, Sub-divisional Police Officer, clarified in a video statement, “The incident is linked to the kidnapping of a girl. The girl was rescued, but the two sides engaged in a fight outside the police station, leading to a traffic jam. The cop used his baton to disperse the crowd.”
