A 19-year-old Muslim woman, identified as Nisha from Delhi’s Madanpur Khadar area, was found dead under circumstances that have triggered serious allegations against her husband, Ankit and several others. The incident has led to outrage among family members and residents, who are demanding a fair and transparent investigation.
According to the family, Nisha had married Ankit after leaving her home nearly two years ago. Relatives alleged that she faced continuous abuse after the marriage and was allegedly assaulted before her death. The family has also raised allegations of gang rape and murder.
Family Alleges Nisha Was Murdered
Speaking about the incident, Nisha’s brother Naseem claimed that the family came to know about her death on June 5 after a local resident informed them.
“My friend heard Ankit telling others that his wife had died. After that, we rushed to the house and found my sister lying dead inside,” he alleged.
The family claimed that when they reached the house, the room was locked from the outside. They alleged that after breaking open the lock, they found Nisha’s body inside the room while a cooler and a fan were running.
Relatives further alleged that there were visible injury marks on her body.
“She was pregnant, and there were signs of severe assault,” a family member claimed, alleging that multiple people were involved in the incident.
Witness Claims He Informed Family
A local resident, identified as Rohan, claimed he overheard conversations about the incident and informed Nisha’s relatives.
“I heard them discussing that his wife had died. After hearing this, I immediately informed her family,” he said.
Family members alleged that Ankit initially claimed Nisha had died by suicide. However, they questioned this version and demanded a detailed forensic investigation.
Police Action and Arrest
According to the family, police later registered an FIR and arrested Ankit. However, they alleged that several other accused persons are still absconding.
The family claimed they have not yet received copies of the FIR and the post-mortem report. They also alleged delays in the investigation and accused police of not taking immediate action.
Nisha’s body was sent to Safdarjung Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Protest Near Police Station
Family members and local activists gathered near Kalindi Kunj Police Station, demanding justice and action against all accused persons.
A local activist alleged that protesters were asked to leave the area while seeking updates in the case.
“We only want justice for Nisha and a proper investigation into all allegations,” one activist said.
Family Demands Fair Investigation
The family has demanded a time-bound investigation into the case, including allegations of murder, assault, and gang rape. They are also seeking the arrest of all accused persons allegedly linked to the incident.
Police have not yet publicly responded in detail to the allegations made by the family. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
