Delhi Police Registers Two FIRs Against Al Falah University After UGC and NAAC Raise Red Flags

al falah university

Delhi Police has filed two separate FIRs against Al Falah University in Haryana after the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council reported serious irregularities in the functioning of the institution. The FIRs were registered by the Crime Branch on charges of cheating and forgery linked to alleged false accreditation claims made by the university. This was confirmed by an official on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Authorities said the action followed major concerns raised during recent reviews conducted by both the UGC and NAAC. These findings prompted the police to begin a deeper inquiry into the university’s operations.

The university has already come under scrutiny earlier. The Delhi Police Special Cell had previously registered a separate FIR under laws related to criminal conspiracy to investigate the wider plot behind a blast case. That FIR, which included sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, has now been transferred to the National Investigation Agency.

Al Falah University is located in Dhauj in the Faridabad district of Haryana, close to the Delhi border. On Saturday, a police team also visited the university’s headquarters in Okhla and sought additional details regarding the suspects linked to the ongoing investigations. The police confirmed that further inquiry is in progress.
