Bageshwar Dham chief Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has strongly criticised Maulana Jarjis Ansari over his alleged remarks claiming that Lord Krishna used to offer namaz five times a day.

The reaction came during a religious event in Hyderabad after a video of Ansari’s alleged statement went viral on social media, triggering criticism from several Hindu groups.

Shastri Warns Against Remarks on Hindu Deities

Responding to the controversy, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri warned against making comments about Hindu religious figures.

“If you comment on our Hindu religion, we will respond. You may not consider your father as your father, that is your matter. But do not point a finger at our revered deity,” he said.

He added, “If we speak now, then it will feel very bad.”

Shastri also challenged Maulana Jarjis Ansari to visit Prayagraj and said he would explain the history and traditions associated with Lord Krishna and Hinduism.

Calls for Action Against Controversial Statements

Addressing the gathering, Shastri urged the Prime Minister to take strict action against those who make controversial statements that, according to him, disturb communal harmony.

He said, “Such people should be punished so that they do not make such statements again.”

Remarks on Hindu Identity

During his speech, Shastri also said that every person born in India is “basically a Hindu” and referred to the film Amar Akbar Anthony while speaking about religious identity.

He further claimed that people of different religions may follow different faiths, but asserted that they all share the same cultural roots.

Says He Does Not Want Communal Discord

Shastri said he was not trying to create a Hindu-Muslim dispute but maintained that he would not tolerate remarks that, in his view, insult Sanatan Dharma or Hindu deities.

The alleged remarks by Maulana Jarjis Ansari have sparked a political and religious debate on social media. There has been no immediate response from Ansari regarding Shastri’s statements.
