Preparations for the country’s 80th Independence Day are underway across madrassas in Uttar Pradesh, with educational institutions in Sambhal district planning special programmes on August 15.
Madrassas in areas including Sambhal, Asmoli, Chandausi and Gunnaur are preparing to hoist the national flag, sing the national anthem and organise programmes highlighting patriotism and India’s freedom struggle.
Students to Learn About Freedom Struggle
As part of the celebrations, madrassa students are being introduced to important events from India’s freedom movement and the contributions of people from different communities.
Special discussions are also being organised on the role of ulema and madrassas in the freedom struggle. Madrassa authorities said many religious scholars participated in the movement against British rule and made significant sacrifices for India’s independence.
The programmes aim to familiarise students with this history while encouraging them to understand their responsibilities towards the country.
Madrassa Students to Join ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’
Students from madrassas in Sambhal are also expected to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on August 15.
As part of the campaign, students will hoist the Tricolour at their homes and share a message of national unity and integrity. Madrassa managements said students were enthusiastic about participating in the celebrations.
Officials said Independence Day provides an opportunity not only to celebrate freedom but also to remember the people who contributed to India’s independence.
Flag Hoisting and Patriotic Programmes Planned
Preparations are also underway for flag-hoisting ceremonies, the singing of the national anthem and other patriotic activities at madrassas across the district.
Students are expected to participate in these events alongside teachers and madrassa staff.
Madrassa authorities said the celebrations would focus on patriotism, national unity and social harmony, while helping students understand the history of India’s freedom struggle.
