The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested two people, including a woman, for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistan-based handlers. One of the accused, AK Singh, a former Subedar in the Indian Army, was living in Goa when he was taken into custody, while his alleged accomplice, Rashmani Pal, was arrested from Daman. Officials said both suspects were in contact with foreign operatives and posed a serious threat to India’s security.

An ATS official said, “These individuals were allegedly passing classified information to foreign handlers, which could have endangered national security.” The arrests come shortly after another operation in November, when Gurpreet Singh, also known as Gopi Billa, was arrested in Halol, Panchmahal district, for smuggling arms linked to Pakistan-backed terror networks. Singh, wanted by Punjab Police, allegedly helped a network planning grenade attacks in India and has been handed over to Punjab Police for further investigation.

Investigators revealed that Manu Agwan and Maninder Billa, reportedly in Malaysia, were recruiting people in Punjab under instructions from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence to carry out attacks in crowded areas across Punjab and other states. During questioning, Gurpreet Singh admitted to smuggling two grenades and two pistols as part of the conspiracy. A senior ATS officer noted, “Acting on intelligence, we located Singh, and during interrogation, he confirmed his involvement in the smuggling operation.”
