Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has been killed. In a statement, the group vowed to continue its fight against Israel, stating, “We will fight in support of Gaza and Palestine and in defense of Lebanon and its steadfast and honorable people.”
Earlier that day, Israel claimed responsibility for Nasrallah’s death, stating he was killed in an airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs the day before. Following the announcement, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV began broadcasting verses from the Quran, signalling a moment of mourning for the group’s leader.
