All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) founder Badruddin Ajmal has dismissed Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s remarks on establishing a “Hindu Rashtra”, calling the idea “a dream” and “madness.”

Reacting to Ramdev’s statement, Ajmal said India is home to people from all religions and communities, making the concept of a Hindu nation unrealistic.

‘People of All Religions Live Here’

“This is madness; no Hindu nation can be formed. People of all religions live here, and thousands of communities exist. How can it become a Hindu nation? This is just a dream, and those who see such dreams are being unrealistic,” Ajmal said.

His remarks came while speaking to reporters in Guwahati on Sunday.

Comments Come Amid Wider Political Debate

Ajmal’s response follows recent comments by Baba Ramdev on the idea of a Hindu Rashtra, which have triggered political reactions from several quarters.

During the interaction, the AIUDF chief also spoke on several other issues, including the alleged pushback of Bangladeshi nationals from Assam, Guwahati’s recurring artificial flooding, the Ram temple donation funds case, the arrest of Pranab Doley, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) debate in West Bengal, and the parliamentary panel’s recommendations regarding the suspension of Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers after prolonged detention.
