Jordan Ozuna, the partner of renowned footballer Karim Benzema and mother of his fourth child, has recently revealed that she has embraced Islam as her new faith.
In a deeply emotional revelation, the American model, Jordan Ozuna, shared that her conversion to Islam was a significant and poignant moment. She disclosed that the conversion ceremony took place at the Madrid Mosque, where she was overwhelmed with emotions and couldn’t hold back her tears.
Ozuna expressed that her interest in Islam is genuine and stressed that her thorough research has led her to perceive it as a “beautiful” religion.
“I have converted to Islam. It was here in the Mosque of Madrid. They recite the Qur’an. … It’s a small and innermost ceremony. I cried like a girl. I am very sentimental,” she said in an exclusive interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
“I have researched a lot about this religion (Islam) and find it beautiful. Everything I’ve read about her has moved me. During Ramadan, I read the Qur’an, which made me cry,” Ozuna said.
“I also read the book named The Sacred Path to Islam, about a Christian who converts to Islam, like me. It’s a really precious book,” she said.
Karim Benzema has recently finalized his transfer to the Saudi Pro League team Al-Ittihad, marking the conclusion of his remarkable tenure with Real Madrid. Ozuna, his partner, is expected to provide her support and be by his side in Saudi Arabia.
She said: “This very Friday, I could travel. I feel like an adventure and to really get to know the culture and the food.”
When asked about the strict dress codes of the Middle Eastern country, Ozuna, who was born in Maryland, USA, shared her thoughts. She acknowledged the cultural differences and the dress code requirements in Saudi Arabia. Understanding and respecting the local customs and traditions, she expressed her willingness to adhere to the dress codes while supporting her partner in his new venture.
“For my part, there is no problem. It is a precious culture, and I am delighted with the adventure,” she said.
Ozuna admitted that she was unaware of Benzema’s celebrity status prior to their initial encounter, primarily because she wasn’t well-informed about European football news.
Despite this, she spoke highly of her partner, describing him as an exceptional individual. She drew a parallel by mentioning her father’s boxing career, revealing that she was prohibited from witnessing his fights during her childhood.
Karim Benzema made a significant impact when he joined Real Madrid in 2009, being recognized as one of the most promising young talents in global soccer.
Over the years, the French striker has solidified his status as a true legend of the club, culminating in winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
