IIPA Honors Dr. Syed Anwar Khursheed with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman 2025 Award in Riyadh

The International Indian Professionals Association (IIPA) hosted a special event at Radisson Blu in Riyadh on January 13, 2025, to honor Dr. Syed Anwar Khursheed, who was recently awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2025 in India. Dr. Khursheed, who returned to Saudi Arabia on January 11, received the award from the President of India for his outstanding contributions to healthcare and education.

Dr. Shafeeq, the President of IIPA, praised Dr. Khursheed’s work during the ceremony. He said, “Dr. Khursheed embodies brilliance, determination, and selfless service. His remarkable accomplishments reflect a purpose-driven life and a deep connection to his roots.”

In his speech, Dr. Khursheed shared his thoughts on community building, saying, “One should always be genuine. We should serve all sections of society with sincere efforts and work towards building a united community. By setting a clear goal and acting with respect and harmony, we can inspire future generations.”

Dr. Shafeeq also spoke about the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, calling it “a symbol of India’s gratitude to those who uphold its values and strengthen ties between India and the world.”

With over 45 years of service in public healthcare, Dr. Khursheed has made significant contributions, especially in critical care during Hajj and in establishing educational institutions for the Indian community in Saudi Arabia. His dedication continues to inspire the global Indian diaspora.

The event was organized by Eng. Farhan Ahmed Hashmi and concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Mir Mujahid. Key members of the Indian expatriate community, including Mr. Shahid Mohiuddin, Mr. Mohammed Samiuddin, and Mr. Sadiq, attended the ceremony, making the evening even more meaningful.

The program celebrated the achievements of Indian professionals abroad and highlighted their role in preserving India’s heritage and enhancing its global reputation. Dr. Shafeeq congratulated the diaspora, highlighting their impact in improving both their host countries and India’s image globally.
