‘Illegal Immigrants’ and ‘Urban Naxals’ Pose Threat to National Security: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi attacks Congress as “Muslim League Maoist Congress” during an event in Ajmer, criticizing its actions at the AI summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described “illegal infiltration” as a “major security threat” and said that infiltrators must be identified and sent back.

The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a gathering at the BJP headquarters after Nitin Nabin took charge as the party’s national president. Modi said that even powerful and wealthy nations are identifying and deporting illegal immigrants and questioned why India should be expected to act differently.

“Nobody in the world accepts illegal immigrants. It is extremely necessary to identify infiltrators and send them back to their countries,” Modi said. He added that India would not allow illegal entrants to “loot the rights” meant for the poor and the youth of the country.

The Prime Minister accused some political parties of protecting infiltrators for vote bank politics and said such forces must be exposed before the people. “India will never allow illegal immigrants to take away the resources and services meant for its poor citizens,” he said.

Modi also flagged what he called “urban Naxalism” as another serious challenge, claiming that its influence is spreading internationally. He alleged that people who speak positively about him or the government are often targeted and silenced.

“If someone tweets something positive about Modi even once or twice a year, or says something positive on TV, or writes something positive in a newspaper, they are humiliated and hounded by some journalists. This is the method of urban Naxalism,” the Prime Minister said.

He further claimed that for many years the BJP was isolated and treated as untouchable, but said people are now beginning to recognise these tactics. “Urban Naxals are continuously working to harm India. We have to defeat this nexus through the strength of our organisation and ideology,” Modi added.
