U.S. President Donald J. Trump on Saturday announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE” following a tense week of cross-border attacks and rising military confrontations.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Trump claimed the breakthrough came after a “long night of talks mediated by the United States.”

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump)

There has been no immediate confirmation from New Delhi or Islamabad.

The situation along the Line of Control (LoC) had sharply deteriorated following the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor and retaliatory missile and drone attacks from Pakistan.

Trump’s announcement, if confirmed, would mark a significant de-escalation after what many feared could spiral into full-scale conflict.
