On August 22, 2025, Hyderabad witnessed a large demonstration at Charminar in support of Palestinians, as hundreds of people gathered to condemn the continuing war in Gaza. The protest was organised by the Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of Telangana and focused on denouncing what they described as genocide, deliberate starvation, and systematic violence by Israel.

Participants held placards and chanted slogans demanding an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid, and accountability for war crimes.

Speaking at the gathering, Mohd. Faraz Ahmed, State President of SIO Telangana, strongly criticised the silence of global powers. “The Government of India must take a clear and principled stand on the Palestine issue, consistent with its historic support for an independent Palestinian state. All countries, including India, should immediately halt the export of arms and military support to Israel,” he said.

Faraz Ahmed also called on citizens to play their part. “World leaders must ensure the urgent and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestine, and Indian citizens should actively contribute by raising awareness, boycotting Israel-linked products, and supporting the Palestinian cause through every possible means. The world cannot remain silent while Gaza is subjected to starvation and mass killings. It is our moral duty to respond through protest, boycott, and prayer,” he added.
