The Indian Army on Wednesday deployed tanks and artillery guns into the Kashmir Valley using a Military Special Train, boosting its operational readiness and marking an important logistics milestone along the northern borders.
The exercise involved transporting heavy military equipment, including tanks, artillery guns, and dozers, from the Jammu region to Anantnag. In a post on X, the Army said the operation was part of a validation exercise that demonstrated improved mobility and strengthened logistics capabilities, achieved through close coordination with the Ministry of Railways.
The Army highlighted the significance of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link, saying it has transformed strategic logistics by allowing faster and more efficient movement of troops and equipment into the Valley.
